Q&A With the Endless Surf team
We caught up with Paul and Baptiste from the Endless Surf team to explore the cutting-edge technology behind Surf London.
Paul Chutter, President & Co-Founder, and Baptiste Caulonque, Chief Commercial Officer, lead the global growth of Endless Surf technology. Together, they drive the vision and strategy that helps bring world-class surf destinations like Surf London to life - blending wave and product performance with the business expertise and collaboration needed to shape the future of inland surfing.
What excites you the most about bringing Endless Surf technology to Surf London?
Paul:
Surf London represents everything Endless Surf was created for: delivering a powerful, authentic surf experience that thrives in a dynamic urban environment. Bringing world-class waves to a tier-one global capital like London - a city that sets trends in sport, culture, and lifestyle — will redefine what it means to surf inland.
We’re thrilled to see our technology anchor a landmark destination that seamlessly blends surf, active leisure, and community. From first-timers discovering the joy of surfing to advanced riders chasing progression, Surf London will showcase how Endless Surf can shape the future of surf culture in one of the world’s most influential cities. We are excited to partner with the Crest Experiences team to help bring their world-class vision to life as they will push the limits of what’s possible within the surf park.
Since launching the first commercial Endless Surf technology wave pool at O₂ SURFTOWN MUC, what have been the highlights?
Baptiste:
Munich proved the model — not just technically, but operationally and commercially. From opening day, O₂ SURFTOWN MUC has run thousands of hours of sessions with incredible reliability, showing just how consistent and flexible Endless Surf can be. The ability to quickly switch between different operational modes - from open surf sessions to private bookings, competitions, and events — has been a huge advantage for the operators.
What’s been especially rewarding is seeing the creative potential of Swell Studio in action. The team has used it to shape custom waves for athletes, adjust sections on the fly for progression camps, and even fine-tune wave settings for brand activations and photo shoots. That kind of responsiveness is exactly what we envisioned when designing the platform.
And beyond the waves, the heart-shaped lagoon layout has proven to be a true differentiator. It delivers multiple surf zones at once, surrounded by high-action viewing areas that make the entire venue feel alive — whether you’re surfing or just watching. The biggest highlight has been seeing all these elements come together: powerful waves, seamless operations, and an atmosphere that keeps surfers and spectators coming back.

The surf park industry is still evolving at a rapid pace. What are the biggest learnings in the last 12 months for the Endless team?
Paul:
We’ve learned that waves alone don’t make a surf park successful - it’s the ecosystem around it that truly defines the experience. Over the past year, it’s become clear that software-driven flexibility is key to keeping operations efficient and guest experiences fresh. From the moment someone books a session to the moment they paddle out, every touch point and interaction matters.
That’s where our Endless Surf Software Suite has become a game-changer. It’s a connected ecosystem that gives operators complete control — not just over the waves, but over how guests interact with them. Surf Concierge manages everything from bookings and wristband access to personalized wave preferences, allowing for seamless guest flow and data-driven insights. Swell Studio is the creative engine - enabling operators to program custom waves, build playlists for sessions, and instantly adjust settings to match any skill level or event format. And behind the scenes, Wave Doctor provides live diagnostics and system monitoring to ensure the technology runs smoothly and efficiently around the clock.
Together, these tools empower operators to evolve and adapt in real time — whether that means introducing new wave types, optimising session flow, or fine-tuning performance. The learning is clear: the future of surf parks is digital, dynamic, and data-driven - and Endless Surf is leading that evolution with a platform built for longevity and limitless creativity.
For those who have surfed at O₂ SURFTOWN MUC, what can they expect to be different when they visit Surf London?
Baptiste:
Surf London will feel familiar in its wave quality and reliability, but it represents a step up in scale. While Munich operates on our ES34 system, London will feature our flagship ES48 — a larger lagoon that delivers longer rides, increased capacity, and even more powerful wave customisation through our Swell Studio software.
That jump in size means larger surf zones and greater flexibility in programming that allows operators to craft a truly bespoke experience for every session - from mellow reforms to high-performance barrels.
Operationally, Surf London will also pair our technology with a premium environment designed for both surfers and spectators. The larger footprint and enhanced layout create a seamless connection between surf and social space, amplifying the energy that Endless Surf is known for. In short, it’s everything people love about Munich — taken to the next level in scale.
Surf London will offer a premium surf and active leisure experience to all guests. What is it about Endless Surf that creates an incredible and authentic surf experience for everyone?
Paul:
Endless Surf was engineered to bring the variety of the ocean to places the ocean can’t reach - powerful, fluid, and always evolving. With a diverse wave menu and fine-tuned control over each session, it delivers everything from approachable beginner waves to world-class performance surf, making every ride feel authentic and progression-driven.
The layout itself amplifies that versatility. The Peak delivers powerful, performance-driven waves with simultaneous lefts and rights that emulate a natural point break, while The Shore provides a mellow inside zone designed for learning and progression. Together, they allow every surfer to find their rhythm, whether it’s their first take-off or their thousandth cutback.
Endless Surf also offers a surf experience for those who don’t surf. Our 360-degree lagoon design keeps spectators close to the action and creates a natural energy around the water — a true gathering place for the surf community. It’s that blend of wave design, technical versatility, and social atmosphere that makes Endless Surf unique. Surf London will surely bring all of that to life as there is no limit to where surfing can go in one of the world’s most vibrant cities.
